Water supply in various areas of the city will be suspended for four days starting tomorrow due to major pipeline repairs.
According to the Water Corporation spokesperson, the suspension is necessary to repair the 84-inch main water line in Ghazi Goth.
The repair work will begin tomorrow and is expected to be completed in the next 96 hours, while the repair work will continue 24/7 to ensure the task is completed on time and water services can be restored.
Once repairs are complete, water pressure and supply will improve in several affected areas, according to the Water Corporation’s statement.
However, during the 4-day maintenance work, many localities in Karachi will face partial suspension in their daily water supply.
The affected areas include Nipa, Lyari, Jamshed Town, Jinnah Town, PIB Colony, Hyderabad Colony, Landhi, Korangi, and parts of DHA.

Currently, Karachi receives a daily supply of 650 million gallons of water, but 200 MGD will be cut during this repair.
This means that only 450 million gallons per day will be available to supply the entire city until the repair is finished.
The spokesperson also urged citizens in the affected areas to store water in advance and use it wisely during the suspension.
Water Corporation officials assured that the situation will be monitored and steps will be taken to avoid complete shortages in any area.
The public is requested to avoid water wastage and cooperate with the authorities during this temporary service interruption.
Once the 84-inch pipeline is restored, water delivery to many low-pressure areas is expected to improve significantly.
