The Fazal Mahmood Cap is awarded to the highest wicket-taker of the tournament, symbolized by a maroon cap worn by the leading bowler throughout the season. Similarly, the Hanif Mohammad Cap is presented to the batter with the most runs.

All Fazal Mahmood Cap Winners in PSL History

PSL 1 (2016) – Andre Russell (Islamabad United)

West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell emerged as the top wicket-taker in the inaugural PSL season. Representing Islamabad United, he played a crucial role in their championship-winning campaign.

PSL 2 (2017) – Sohail Khan (Karachi Kings)

Sohail Khan of Karachi Kings finished as the leading wicket-taker in PSL 2, claiming 16 wickets. Despite his individual brilliance, Karachi Kings were eliminated in the playoffs.

PSL 3 (2018) – Faheem Ashraf (Islamabad United)

Faheem Ashraf dominated the season with 18 wickets, playing a vital role in Islamabad United’s second PSL title victory.

PSL 4 (2019) – Hasan Ali (Peshawar Zalmi)

With a record 25 wickets, Hasan Ali spearheaded Peshawar Zalmi to the final, making PSL 4 a remarkable season for the pacer.

PSL 5 (2020) & PSL 7 (2022) – Shaheen Shah Afridi (Lahore Qalandars)

Lahore Qalandars’ skipper, Shaheen Shah Afridi, won the Fazal Mahmood Cap twice. He claimed 17 wickets in 2020 and an impressive 20 wickets in 2022, leading his team with match-winning performances.

PSL 6 (2021) – Shahnawaz Dahani (Multan Sultans)

Young pacer Shahnawaz Dahani, representing Multan Sultans, took 20 wickets in 11 matches, helping his team reach and win their first PSL title.

PSL 8 (2023) – Abbas Afridi (Multan Sultans)

Another Multan Sultans bowler, Abbas Afridi, won the Fazal Mahmood Cap by taking 23 wickets in 11 matches. Multan played back-to-back finals but fell short of securing the trophy.

PSL 9 (2024) – Usama Mir (Multan Sultans)

Usama Mir claimed 24 wickets in 11 matches to win the Fazal Mahmood Cap. This marked Multan Sultans’ third consecutive final appearance, but they lost to Islamabad United.
