Despite reaching the final last year, Pakistan’s hockey team has been excluded from the upcoming Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025.
According to media reports, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) did not receive an invitation from the tournament organizers.
The omission comes as a surprise, especially considering Pakistan’s silver-medal finish in the 2024 edition.
Interestingly, last year’s champion, Japan, has also been left out of the competition.
This year’s tournament, set to take place in Ipoh from November 22 to 29, will feature Belgium, Canada, Germany, India, Ireland, and hosts Malaysia.
