The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has denied reports stating that new currency notes will not be issued for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025.
According to a statement from SBP, commercial banks will continue their tradition of distributing new banknotes to the public through their nationwide branch network.
The central bank has already provided Rs 27 billion worth of new banknotes in all denominations to 17,000 commercial bank branches during Ramadan 2025.
To ensure smooth distribution, SBP has also deployed cash monitoring teams, while banks’ ATMs will provide clean and quality notes throughout the festive period.
The bank reassured the public that all necessary measures were in place to facilitate access to new currency notes.
