The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has sealed multiple Bahria Town properties across Pakistan as part of corruption cases against real estate tycoon Malik Riaz.
The action includes commercial and residential properties in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi’s Takht Pari, New Murree, and Islamabad.
According to NAB’s statement, several cases are under investigation against Riaz and his associates for illegally occupying government and private land, launching housing projects without approval, and defrauding people of billions of rupees.
In February, NAB filed corruption references against Riaz, former Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Minister Sharjeel Memon, and others over land transfer to Bahria Town.

NAB has also frozen Bahria Town’s bank accounts and vehicles while pursuing Riaz’s extradition from Dubai, where he is currently residing as a court absconder.
The watchdog claimed that individuals from Pakistan were illegally transferring money to invest in Riaz’s luxury apartment project in Dubai, warning that any such transaction would be treated as money laundering.
NAB urged the public to avoid investing in Bahria Town’s projects, stating that legal actions against the accused will continue without delay or pressure.
Efforts to bring Riaz back to Pakistan are ongoing in coordination with other government agencies.
