Karachi’s Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) flyover adjacent to the Jam Sadiq Bridge is set to be completed by May 2025, five months ahead of its original September 2025 deadline, according to Senior Minister for Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon.
During the visit, the Secretary of the Transport Department, Asad Zaman, Project Director Zameer Abbasi, engineers, representatives from construction companies, and consultants were present and briefed Memon about the progress and challenges of the project.
Speaking to the media, Memon said that the Yellow Line BRT flyover, initially set for completion in September 2025, will be finished by May 2025—five months ahead of schedule. He acknowledged that utility-related issues pose a significant challenge but reaffirmed the Sindh government’s commitment to overcoming them.
He instructed that no delays should occur, reaffirming the Sindh government’s commitment to providing modern transport facilities.
Memon also addressed other BRT projects, mentioning challenges in the Red Line BRT due to civil aviation and water infrastructure, but assured they would be resolved soon.

He confirmed that Green Line BRT fares would remain unchanged, with improved facilities for passengers.
Appealing to the Prime Minister, Memon urged him to fulfill his promise of providing 180 buses for Karachi.
For women’s mobility, he announced free pink scooters for working women and a pink taxi service for safe travel. Additionally, the “I Work for Sindh” app has been launched to create employment opportunities for youth.
Memon concluded that these transport and employment initiatives aim to enhance Karachi’s infrastructure and improve citizens’ daily lives.
