Uzbekistan has officially lifted its brief ban on Pakistani workers, allowing them to seek employment in the country once again.
The move follows a recommendation from the Pakistan Embassy in Tashkent to register workers for a more streamlined employment process.
The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment has since issued a circular directing all Protectorate of Emigrants Offices to register workers seeking jobs in Uzbekistan.
The decision also aligns with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming two-day visit to Uzbekistan at the end of February, signaling stronger bilateral ties.
Visa Requirements for Pakistani Workers
Pakistani workers must fulfill certain conditions to work legally in Uzbekistan:
- Work Visa: A Type E visa is required, valid for up to 30 days and for a single entry.
Registration: Workers must register their address with the local police within three days of arrival.
- Employment Contract: A valid job contract with an Uzbek company is mandatory.
- Medical Certificate: While no longer required for work permit applications, workers should verify current regulations with the Uzbek embassy or consulate.
Authorities emphasize that meeting these requirements will help Pakistani workers transition smoothly into Uzbekistan’s job market.
