Canada will raise application and processing fees for various temporary resident applications, including those for visitors, students, and workers, starting December 1.

The changes will also affect fees for restoring temporary resident status, authorization to return, criminal rehabilitation, and Temporary Resident Permits (TRPs).

It is yet to disclose the updated fee amounts for Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) however, applicants are urged to prepare for the changes and ensure accurate payment of fees when submitting applications to avoid delays.

Online applicants will have their payments processed instantly, while mailed applications may face a lag between dispatch and receipt by IRCC.

In cases where fee adjustments occur during this period, IRCC generally accepts applications and contacts applicants to address any discrepancies.

Applicants are advised to confirm the appropriate fee before submission to streamline the process. The changes aim to reflect administrative costs and maintain efficient immigration services.
