PCB questions ICC over Indian anthem blunder during Aus-Eng match in Lahore

Indian anthem blunder Lahore

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has demanded an explanation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) after the Indian national anthem was briefly played during the Australia-England match at Gaddafi Stadium.

Media reports suggested that the ICC had prepared the Champions Trophy anthem playlist, which mistakenly included India’s anthem despite the team not playing in Pakistan.

The responsibility for playing anthems during matches lies with the ICC, and the PCB has formally contacted them for clarification.

The PCB insists that the ICC must provide a public explanation, stressing that as the tournament’s governing body, it is accountable for all the operations.

It is worth mentioning here that the incident occurred just before the match when India’s anthem was played for a few moments instead of Australia.
