Australian captain Steve Smith praised Pakistan’s hospitality, calling it “wonderful,” and commended the people and food during a press conference in Lahore.

Smith expressed hope that a large number of spectators would attend the highly anticipated match between Australia and England.

He stressed that his team is fully prepared for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and sees the tournament as a great opportunity for young players to prove themselves.

“Australia handles pressure well in big ICC events,” Smith said, acknowledging England’s strength in white-ball cricket. “We know what we need to do to win.”

He also mentioned that Australia’s playing XI would be announced at the toss. Speaking about the venue, he praised the improvements at Gaddafi Stadium and hoped for a strong crowd to enhance the atmosphere.

Regarding his experience in Pakistan, Smith reiterated, “The hospitality is wonderful, the people are excellent, and the food is delicious.” He added that his stay in Pakistan has been enjoyable.

Meanwhile, England captain Jos Buttler highlighted his team’s experience playing in Pakistan, particularly through the PSL.

In today’s Champions Trophy clash, historic rivals Australia and England will battle at Gaddafi Stadium – Lahore in what promises to be an exciting contest.
