Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf remains optimistic ahead of their must-win clash against India in the Champions Trophy 2025, stressing the team’s focus and positive mindset.
Speaking to the media in Dubai about defeat from New Zealand, the fast bowler stated, “That match is in the past. We are focusing on our next game, correcting our mistakes, and aiming for victory to qualify for the semi-finals.”
Despite the pressure, he assured that the team remains mentally strong. “Alhamdulillah, all the boys have a positive mentality and will give their best in every department,” he added.
Regarding fitness concerns, Haris dismissed any doubts, saying, “You must have seen our fitness in the last match. I completed 10 overs, which means I am fit.”
Pakistan has a strong track record against India in Dubai, having won their last two encounters at this venue. “We have defeated India here before, and we will try to replicate that performance with confidence,” Haris said.
Addressing Pakistan’s pace dominance against India, he acknowledged their impressive record but stressed the importance of adapting to conditions.
“Records are good, but we need to assess the conditions and adjust our strategy accordingly,” he concluded.
Pakistan faces India in a high-stakes encounter on February 23, 2025, with their semi-final hopes hanging in the balance.
