Today’s gold rates in Karachi and across Pakistan recorded a notable decline, with the bullion market opening August on a negative note as international gold prices fell sharply, reversing Friday’s strong close and pushing domestic rates back below the Rs. 427,000 mark on the first trading session of the new month.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold per tola declined by Rs. 3,700, settling at Rs. 426,736.

Today’s gold rates in Karachi and Pakistan, August 1, 2026:
- Gold, 24K per tola: Rs. 426,736 (-3,700)
- Gold, 24K per 10 grams: Rs. 365,857 (-3,202)
- Gold, 22K per 10 grams: Rs. 335,381 (-2,907)
International gold prices also fell sharply, declining by $37 to settle at $4,043 per ounce, reversing Friday’s gain of $30 and pulling global rates back toward the lower end of the range seen throughout the past two weeks.
The decline in global gold rates was reflected in domestic pricing, with today’s gold rates in Karachi falling across all categories throughout the session.
The scale of Saturday’s fall almost exactly mirrors Friday’s gain of Rs. 3,000 per tola, illustrating once again the deeply volatile and directionless character that has defined Pakistan’s gold market throughout July and now into the opening session of August.
Gold Rates in Karachi Open August With a Sharp Reversal
Saturday’s decline follows Friday’s strong close of Rs. 3,000 per tola, which had pushed gold rates in Karachi to Rs. 430,436 and raised hopes that July’s turbulent final week might give way to a more positive start to August.

Those hopes have been dashed in the very first session of the new month, with Saturday’s fall of Rs. 3,700 per tola reversing Friday’s gains entirely and pushing prices to levels not seen since the mid-week sessions of the past week.
The broader pattern that has emerged over the past two weeks has been one of sharp one-day surges followed by equally sharp single-session reversals, with the market unable to establish any clear and sustained upward trend despite repeatedly recovering from historic lows.
Saturday’s sharp opening to August continues that frustrating pattern and leaves gold rates in Karachi in broadly the same uncertain territory that characterized the second half of July.
Gold Rates in Karachi Hold Above Rs. 425,000 Despite the Fall
At Rs. 426,736 per tola, today’s gold rates in Karachi remain above the Rs. 425,000 level that has provided a degree of support throughout the recent period of volatility, which is an encouraging sign even after a sharp down session.

Internationally, gold at $4,043 per ounce continues to hold above the historic $4,000 threshold whose breach last month had marked a low point for global markets, maintaining that key recovery even after Saturday’s notable decline.
Market Opens August With Caution
Today’s gold rates in Pakistan continue to be shaped by global economic signals, currency movements, and investor sentiment.
Saturday’s sharp reversal of Friday’s gains is a reminder that the extreme volatility that dominated July has not disappeared overnight, and the market continues to swing sharply in both directions without establishing any clear directional conviction.
Traders and investors will be watching closely whether gold rates in Karachi can find support at current levels heading into the new week and resume a more sustained recovery, or whether the opening session of August signals that the volatile and uncertain conditions of July will continue into the new month.
