PSX edges higher as benchmark index gains 206 Points

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) ended Tuesday’s trading session on a positive note, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index advancing 205.83 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 176,133.56.

The market remained volatile throughout the session, touching an intraday high of 178,370.45 before retreating to a low of 176,062.69.

The benchmark settled above the previous close of 175,927.73, reflecting cautious investor optimism.

Trading activity remained robust, with the KSE-100 Index recording a turnover of 448.77 million shares valued at Rs22.89 billion.

Across the broader market, a total of 1.003 billion shares changed hands, generating a traded value of Rs35.70 billion through 413,475 transactions.

Market breadth remained positive as 268 stocks advanced, 191 declined, while 107 remained unchanged, out of a total of 566 traded securities.

Among the most actively traded stocks, Cnergyico PK Limited (CNERGY) topped the volume chart with 263.63 million shares traded. The stock closed at Rs9.96, down Rs0.65, after fluctuating between Rs9.85 and Rs11.11 during the session.

Trust Securities & Brokerage Limited (TSBL) followed with 111.32 million shares, gaining Rs0.24 to close at Rs2.39.

TPL Properties Limited (TPLP) rose Rs0.76 to Rs13.27 on a turnover of 73.87 million shares, while Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) edged up Rs0.14 to Rs49.19 with 58.56 million shares traded.

Among other volume leaders, First National Equities Limited (FNEL) gained Rs0.01 to Rs1.23 on 26.33 million shares, TPL Corp Limited (TPL) climbed Rs1.07 to Rs18.24 with 24.40 million shares, and WorldCall Telecom Limited (WTL) added Rs0.03 to close at Rs1.26 after 22.60 million shares changed hands.

Despite intraday volatility, the market managed to finish in positive territory, supported by selective buying in key sectors while healthy trading volumes indicated sustained investor participation.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) is the country’s primary equity market and the KSE-100 Index serves as its benchmark, tracking the performance of the largest and most liquid listed companies.
