In a move to facilitate the passengers, Pakistan Railways has announced the restoration of the Shah Hussain Express on the Karachi-Lahore route.
Effective February 25, 2025, the Shah Hussain Express will depart from Karachi Cantonment Station at 7:30 pm, reaching Lahore at 2:15 pm the following day.
The train will pass through major cities such as Hyderabad, Rohri, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Khanewal, and Faisalabad. The return journey will depart from Lahore at 7:00 pm, arriving in Karachi at 2:05 pm.
The restored train service will feature 10 economy class coaches, 2 AC business class coaches, 2 AC standard class coaches, 1 power plant, and a brake van.
Additionally, Pakistan Railways will operate two special trains to facilitate pilgrims traveling to Sehwan Sharif for the annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
The first special train will depart Faisalabad station at 10:00 pm on February 14, arriving in Sehwan Sharif at 2:15 pm on February 15, passing through Shurkot, Lodhran, Rohri, and Dadu.
The second special train will leave Lahore station at 3:00 pm on February 15, arriving in Sehwan Sharif at 9:00 am on February 16.
The Faisalabad-bound train will leave Sehwan Sharif at 4:00 pm on February 20, reaching Faisalabad at 9:00 am the next day. The Lahore-bound train will depart at 5:00 pm, arriving in Lahore at 11:30 am the following day.
