Karachi police have disclosed disturbing details in the case of Sarim, a child who was kidnapped and murdered in North Karachi.
According to SSP AVCC, Anil Haider, the initial postmortem report confirms that the child was abused before being killed.
The report further revealed that Sarim’s neck bone was broken, and he was strangled to death.
SSP Haider stated that the murder occurred five days ago, and the body was later dumped into the water tank.
Police have taken a close relative into custody on suspicion of involvement.
SSP Haider also confirmed that DNA tests are being conducted to confirm the suspect’s role in the crime, meanwhile, the investigation into the case is still underway.
A day earlier, the preliminary postmortem report revealed multiple injuries on Sarim’s body, while the final report will disclose the cause of death.
The body of the seven-year-old boy, Sarim who went missing on January 07 – was found in an underground water tank established in his resident apartments earlier this morning.
The police officials later shifted the body to the Medicolegal Section at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem.
Later, the female Karachi Police surgeon, Dr Summaiya, issued a statement stating that the preliminary postmortem report noted multiple injuries on Sarim’s body.
