The auto sales saw a huge growth of 54 percent in the first half of the financial year 2024-25 from July to December 2024-25.
According to media reports, despite the absence of sales figures from Sazgar Engineering Works Limited, the entire auto sector, barring the tractor segment, has performed strongly in the first half of the financial year 2025.
Due to lower interest rates, rising remittances, and lower inflation, sales of cars, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), pickups and vans increased by 54 percent to 60,676 units during July-December 2024-25, compared to 39,453 units in the same period last year.
Vehicle sales in December 2024 increased by 69 percent to 9,820 units, down 3 percent month-on-month period.
Topline Securities’ Myesha Sohail attributed the slight month-on-month decline mainly to the year-end impact, with buyers postponing vehicle deliveries or purchases to secure new-year registrations.
She said that car sales increased year-on-year due to lower interest rates, improved consumer confidence and introduction of new variants and models.
Myesha Sohail claimed that Lucky Motors saw a 30 to 40 percent increase in sales in 2024 compared to 2023 and its volume is expected to be 6,500 to 7,000 units, estimating that the industry’s car sales, including sales of KIA Motors, increased by 51 percent in 2024.
