The Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has set up an inquiry committee to address student concerns over the recent announced results.
As per media reports, Syed Sharaf Ali Shah, who took office as interim chairman, met with the Secretary of the Universities and Boards Department.
The meeting members decided that an inquiry committee would be formed to review the results and ensure transparency.
The committee’s task is to investigate the complaints and resolve them within a month.
The Inter Board Chairman assured that every effort would be made to address students’ issues, urging students and parents to submit their complaints and suggestions to the Board.
It is pertinent to mention here that many students who failed in the pre-engineering and pre-medical groups of the Karachi Intermediate examinations have raised concerns and are now submitting scrutiny forms in large numbers at the BIEK.
The failed students expressed their dissatisfaction with the results, stating that their dreams had been shattered.
Students claimed that the results were intentionally manipulated, as those who had scored 80 to 85 percent in matriculation were given less than 50 percent marks.
Meanwhile, some students who had achieved A1 grades in matriculation were only able to pass two subjects.
The protesting students also pointed out that they had failed in several subjects.
