The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has issued a significant development in the Field General Court Martial (FGCM) proceedings against retired Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed.
The proceedings, initiated on August 12, 2024, under the Pakistan Army Act, have now entered a critical phase with formally arraigned charges against the retired general.
According to the ISPR news release, Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed (R) faces multiple charges, including involvement in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of powers and government resources, and acts detrimental to the security and interests of the state, as well as also accused of causing wrongful loss to a person(s).

The court-martial is further investigating allegations of the retired general’s involvement in violent incidents linked to political chaos and unrest in the country.
These multiple incidents reportedly include the events of 09 May 2023, where violence and disorder were attributed to collusion with political elements.
The ISPR asserted that all legal rights are being extended to Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed (R) as per the law during the FGCM process.
