NDMA issues alert as Murree set to receive heavy snowfall

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a detailed traffic advisory for tourists planning to visit Murree during the winter season.

Director General Irfan Ali Kathia highlighted the risk posed by continuous rain and snow, warning of slippery roads and potential traffic disruptions.

In response, local authorities are treating roads with salt and deploying machinery to clear snow promptly, ensuring the main highways to remain operational.

To assist visitors, 13 facilitation centers have been set up across Murree, offering guidance and essential services during challenging weather conditions.

Tourists are strongly advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and avoid unnecessary travel to prevent accidents.

Murree, a popular winter destination, often sees an influx of tourists during snowfall. Authorities are stressing caution and responsibility to ensure a safe experience for the tourists.
