Kuwait has suspended its electronic visa (e-Visa) program for citizens of 53 countries, aiming to upgrade the system for better efficiency and user experience.
The affected countries include Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bhutan, Brunei, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Laos, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, and Vatican City.
While no specific timeline for resumption has been announced, the Ministry of Interior stated that the suspension would facilitate the development of a more advanced system.
To address potential disruptions, travelers from these countries can still obtain a visa on arrival at Kuwait International Airport.
Visa on Arrival Requirements:
Eligible visitors need:
- A passport is valid for six months from the entry date.
- A return or onward ticket.
- A visa fee of 3 Kuwaiti dinars (KWD).
- A valid residential address for their stay.
This single-entry tourist visa will be valid for three months. However, visitors must ensure they are not listed on Kuwait’s blacklist before applying.
