Karachi may experience temp dropping to 11°C–13°C tonight

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a mild cold wave across Sindh, with temperature in Karachi is expected to drop to 11°C–13°C tonight and Sunday night.

The PMD – in its weather forecast – stated that the upper areas of Sindh will see colder nights, with temperatures ranging from 7°C to 9°C, while central Sindh is expected to experience temperatures between 9°C and 11°C.

Southern Sindh will hover around 10°C to 12°C, while Karachi in particular is likely to experience temperature as low as 11°C – 13°C tonight and Sunday night.

The Met office also noted that dry, cool winds from the northeast and northwest are predicted to continue across the region.

The PMD has also warned of further cold intensification nationwide due to expected rain and snowfall until December 11.

Authorities in northern areas have been advised to stay vigilant and take precautionary measures, particularly in northern areas to avoid any tragedy.

Last week, the PMD forecasted that the weather is expected to remain moderately cold over the next three days, with fog likely in the mornings in Karachi.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature is forecast to drop by one to two degrees to around 18°C on Saturday.

A westerly wind system is anticipated to enter Balochistan tonight, bringing light rain and drizzle to a few districts, including Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Shikarpur on Friday night and Saturday.

Meanwhile, Lahore continues to top the list of Pakistan’s most polluted cities, with air quality index readings ranging from 600 to over 1100.

The average air quality index in Lahore is 622, with areas like Polo Ground Cantt and Shimla Pahari experiencing dangerously high pollution levels.
