Weather update: Karachi to experience cold wave next week

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted a cold wave in Karachi starting next week as chilly winds from Balochistan move into the city.

The minimum temperature in Karachi dropped to 17°C on Sunday morning, marking a noticeable change in weather.

The PMD’s Early Warning Center predicts that the city will see moderate weather today, but temperatures are expected to fall further beginning Monday night.

By Tuesday, Karachi could experience stronger winds, with the minimum temperature dipping to 17°C and the maximum hovering between 29°C and 31°C.

The cooler weather, coupled with moderate winds, is likely to persist throughout the week, signaling the onset of the winter season.

Meanwhile, northern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and the Pothohar region may witness strong winds, thunderstorms, and snowfall in higher altitudes over the next 24 hours.

As Karachi experiences this gradual shift towards colder weather, residents can expect an overall drop in temperature, especially at night.
