The Sindh Government has issued revised guidelines for private school fee collection for the 2026–27 academic session, aiming to improve transparency and protect parents from unfair charges.
According to the new policy, the academic year began on April 1, 2026, while matriculation examinations have been underway since April 10 across the province.
Schools have been directed to charge matric students only up to March and are strictly prohibited from collecting any additional fees from students appearing in board examinations.

A separate fee structure has been introduced for students transitioning from Class IX to Class X to ensure clarity and avoid confusion during the academic shift.
Under the updated rules, private schools are allowed to collect June and July fees in advance during April and May. However, institutions must issue separate fee vouchers for each month.
Officials clarified that June fee vouchers will remain valid until June 30, while July vouchers can be used until July 31, ensuring flexibility for parents.

The policy update follows a recent case in the Sindh High Court (SHC), where a student was granted conditional permission to appear in exams amid a dispute over advance fee collection.
The student’s family had approached the court against a private school in Karachi, alleging that the administration issued advance fee challans for June and July, contrary to standard practices.
The court’s intervention highlighted concerns among parents regarding early fee demands and inconsistent policies across private institutions.
