Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to resume flight operations to Europe within two weeks following the European Air Safety Agency’s (EASA) decision to lift its ban on the national carrier.
Sources confirm that PIA will deploy Boeing 777 aircraft for European routes, with preparations underway to restart flights to the United Kingdom (UK).
Officials are optimistic that the UK will lift its restrictions on PIA operations in the coming days.
The announcement of EASA’s decision was confirmed by the Director General of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), Nadir Shafi Dar.
He credited the achievement to the collective efforts of the Prime Minister, Aviation Minister, and Aviation Secretary.
Defense and Aviation Minister Khawaja Asif, in an exclusive interview with the media, highlighted the relentless efforts of the Ministry of Aviation and Civil Aviation Authority in meeting European standards to regain operational rights.
“This success is a testament to the tireless work of our team and the commitment of the government to restore PIA’s international presence,” he stated.
