The former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Sarfaraz Ahmed, who won the last Champions Trophy tournament in 2017, will join the trophy tour at Mohatta Palace tomorrow.
As per Geo News reports, Sarfaraz Ahmed has been invited to a special photoshoot with the ICC Champions Trophy at the historic Mohatta Palace on Friday.
The event will take place after Friday prayers, but it will be a private affair with no fan interaction allowed at the location.
It is worth mentioning here that Sarfaraz led Pakistan thrash India by 180 runs in the Champions Trophy final back in 2017, marking one of the most iconic moments in the country’s cricket history.
The win, achieved during Ramadan, earned Sarfaraz and his team a heroic welcome upon their return to the home country with fans gathered on the streets from Karachi Airport to the Buffer zone area, celebrating the nation’s maiden Champions Trophy triumph.
The ongoing Champions Trophy tour began in Karachi on November 20.
Last night, the trophy visited Burns Road Food Street, where it was briefly displayed for fans before being showcased on a historic building’s balcony for a photoshoot.
Earlier today, the trophy was presented at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre’s ground located at the National Bank Cricket Arena and later taken to the Edhi Centre.
Tonight, the silverware will be featured in a scenic photoshoot at Seaview Beach.
The Karachi leg of the tour will conclude on November 25, after which the trophy will continue its international journey.
