Following tremendous rainfall during the monsoon season, Karachi has seen one of the worst dengue epidemics in its history this year.
Meanwhile, as the dengue virus spreads over Karachi, the district administration has initiated an anti-dengue campaign akin to that of Islamabad.
According to reports, medical teams from Islamabad and Lahore have begun training physicians and other provincial health department personnel. The anti-dengue effort began in District East, which was the worst hit by the virus.
Dr Naeem Sikandar, District Health Officer (DHO) East, said that anti-dengue spraying was carried out in the homes of patients and 20 nearby residential facilities to eradicate the virus.
