K-Electric has scheduled maintenance work on 48 of its 2,129 feeders across Karachi for October 27, 2026, which may lead to temporary power outages in several areas.

According to the utility, the maintenance aims to improve the performance of the electricity distribution network and enhance the reliability of power supply.
The work is scheduled to take place at different times between 8am and 6pm, with the duration of outages varying depending on the area and the nature of the maintenance.
K-Electric clarified that the planned interruptions are part of its routine maintenance programme and are separate from unplanned outages caused by technical faults, feeder tripping or increased electricity demand. Power supply to affected areas is expected to be restored once the scheduled work is completed.
Which Areas Will Be Affected?
Residents and businesses connected to the designated feeders may face temporary power interruptions during the scheduled maintenance hours.
Consumers have been advised to check the relevant maintenance timings beforehand and plan accordingly, especially if they depend on a continuous electricity supply for household, commercial or business activities.
K-Electric said its maintenance programme is aimed at upgrading and maintaining Karachi’s power distribution infrastructure, with the broader objective of improving service reliability across the city.

If Your Area Is Affected
- Charge phones, laptops, and any backup devices ahead of the scheduled window.
- If you rely on an electric water pump, fill storage tanks before the outage begins.
- Avoid opening fridges/freezers unnecessarily during the outage to keep food cold longer.
Power should restore automatically at the listed end time – if it doesn’t come back within an hour of the scheduled end, that likely indicates a separate fault, not the planned maintenance.
