Mayor Murtaza Wahab has revealed plans to install solar-powered streetlights on 106 roads in Karachi, aiming to address the increasing electricity tariff. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will implement the solarization initiative despite challenges posed by the warm temperature and dusty weather in the city.
The mayor emphasized the need for efficient dust-resistant solar panels to ensure the success of the solar-powered streetlight project. In the next 10 days, 32 roads in the SITE area are set to be inaugurated as part of the initiative. Wahab also announced the inauguration of a new road in Lyari, with a commitment to the timely completion of development projects in Malir.
Highlighting the People’s Party’s leadership in Karachi for the first time, Mayor Murtaza Wahab assured citizens of ongoing development work in every town of the city under their administration.
