Installation of modern escalators has begun at Jinnah International Airport’s terminal Karachi to replace the old escalators that had been causing repeated problems for passengers.

The issues with the escalators had particularly affected movement between the two floors of the terminal, prompting the authorities to begin installation of modern replacements.
The existing escalators were installed in 1992 as part of the expansion and renovation of Karachi Airport.
After decades of use, the escalators had become outdated and were reportedly experiencing operational problems.
The installation of new escalators is expected to improve passenger movement and provide a more reliable facility at Jinnah Terminal.
