On the eve of Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir delivered a resolute message, asserting that any attempt to undermine the military is synonymous with weakening the nation itself. Speaking at the Independence Parade at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul on Tuesday night, General Munir emphasized the unbreakable bond between the military and the people of Pakistan, and the central role of the armed forces in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.
Addressing the cadets and distinguished guests at the event, General Munir reaffirmed the military’s unwavering commitment to the defense of the nation. "Our national consciousness is rooted in the ideology of Pakistan, which is based on the Two-Nation Theory. Any effort to weaken our armed forces is akin to weakening the state,” he declared, reinforcing the integral connection between the military’s strength and the nation’s security.
The Independence Parade began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, setting a solemn tone for the evening. A laser light show followed, vividly depicting Pakistan’s struggle for independence and the nation’s journey of resilience and growth. The cadets of the Pakistan Military Academy showcased their discipline and dedication with an impressive march-past, while a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the stroke of midnight. The national anthem echoed through the grounds as the 12th Baloch Regiment proudly raised the flag, symbolizing the nation’s unity and pride.
The parade, attended by cadets, their families, and other distinguished guests, was a display of the military’s discipline, commitment, and patriotism. Attendees expressed admiration for the cadets’ performance, reflecting the high standards of the Pakistan Military Academy.
