The Pakistan Football League (PFL) has stepped in to support Muhammad Riaz, a former national footballer who represented Pakistan in the 2018 Asian Games but was forced to leave the sport due to financial struggles.

Riaz, once a national hero on the soccer field, was found making jalebis in Hangu to support his family after the suspension of departmental sports.

Taking immediate action, PFL Chairman Farhan Junejo announced a PKR 1 million prize for him and a guaranteed position in the league, ensuring his return to professional football.

“Muhammad Riaz is just one of many talented footballers in Pakistan who have been left without a platform,” said Farhan Junejo. “PFL is committed to reviving football and ensuring that players like Riaz get the recognition and opportunities they deserve.”

In addition to financial support, PFL has promised to provide free kits, training facilities, and international-level coaching to deprived footballers in Hangu and beyond.

Riaz, expressing gratitude, vowed to work with PFL to nurture young talent and prevent future players from facing similar hardships.

PFL’s initiative aims to restore Pakistan’s footballing potential, ensuring that no promising player is left behind.
