UAE to launch ferry service to Karachi to boost tourism

UAE to launch ferry service to Karachi to promote tourism, says Pakistan’s Ambassador

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed its interest in launching a ferry service to Karachi, Pakistan’s southern port city, to promote tourism. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, shared the news with the media, saying that the offer was made by the UAE officials during a meeting with Pakistani officials at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), an annual tourism event held in Dubai.

Tirmizi expressed hope that the ferry service would begin soon, following the UAE’s offer. He added that Pakistan’s then federal cabinet had approved a summary to launch a ferry service connecting Pakistan with Iran, UAE, and Saudi Arabia in 2020 to offer affordable transportation to pilgrims and tourists, but no further action was taken in this regard.

The Pakistani Ambassador said that the participation of Pakistan in the show was significant and would help promote inbound tourism. A 25-member delegation, led by the Prime Minister’s aide on Tourism and Sports Awn Chaudhry, is participating in the tourism expo to showcase the country’s rich tourism potential.

“Pakistan’s participation in the show will help the country to promote a soft image at the international level,” Tirmizi said.

The UAE’s ferry service offer to Karachi will not only promote tourism but also strengthen the ties between the two countries.
