The Sindh government on Friday announced that schools and other educational institutes will be allowed to hold in-person classes as long as there is 100 per cent Covid vaccinated staff present on campus and there is 50 per cent attendance of students at a time.
According to ARY News, the working committee of the education department has allowed in-person classes in schools six days a week, directing the administration to divide students into two groups and allow one group at a time for in-person classes.
All private and government schools would be bound to adopt the procedure and each group would attend the classes three days a week. It has also been mandated that school staff and parents of attendees have to submit their Covid-19 vaccination cards prior to the commencement of classes.
It has also been decided that a committee of the education department would oversee the implementation of the Covid-19 SOPs at the educational institutes.
On August 23, the government of Sindh and the All Pakistan Private Schools’ Federation (APPSF) agreed on reopening schools after a protest was announced by teachers and parents against a delay in allowing in-person classes.
