Sindh police finalize strict security plan for Ashura procession

Security plans for the 8th, 9th and 10th of Muharram have been finalized by the Sindh Police.

Over 71000 police inspectors are to be positioned all over the province along with another 10000 rangers and 150 women officers.

About 3793 police mobiles would be put into service in Karachi. Pakistan Army has also been asked to provide 52 companies.

Following a security analysis, 1110 out of 14208 majlis have been highlighted as sensitive gatherings. Of the 8301 processions expected in the city, about 502 have been marked as perilous. 485 other locations in the province have been noted as high risk areas.

The procession will go a further two km this time owing to infrastructure developments. Containers have been placed on the route to be followed and other sensitive areas. The security condition will also be monitored through Aerial and cctv footage and 93 mobile phone jam device.

Other restrictions have been imposed to avoid any terror incidents.
