The provincial government has given its approval for the hiring of 2,000 police officers for the Rapid Response Force (RRF) and other specialised units of the police, according to Sindh Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon on Sunday.
The IGP stated that the Sindh government would also cover costs incurred throughout the entire process of training the hired policemen during a programme honouring police officers, particularly traffic officials, for their services provided in the flood-hit districts.
He instructed DIG-traffic Ahmed Nawaz Cheema to submit specific suggestions for assigning traffic officers near people’s homes.
