Sindh government has asked the Supreme Court for 30 billion rupees for the settlements of the displaced families whose homes were vandalized in anti-encroachment drive across Gujjar and Orangi nullah.
It was decided by the provincial government to allot the alternative plots to the concerned people whose houses were demolished in the ongoing anti-encroachment drive. The decision was taken on the directives of Pakistan Peoples Party’S chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Said the CM.
Chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said, chairman of Pakistan’s People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto is deeply concerned with the current matter and is vowed to finance the families with homes. He further assured that all the 6,500 displaced families will be provided with alternative plots of 80 square yards.
Two applications were filed by Sindh government earlier in Supreme Court, in which it states that an estimate amount of 10 billion are needed to provide the settlements to the homeless. Following the third application which also stresses upon the city’s drainage system.
It would cost up to 30 billion to accomplish all the said challenges, said the CM. And requested to the Supreme Court to mull over the issues mentioned in the applications.
