Allottees of Scheme 45, Taiser Town, have raised serious allegations against the Malir Development Authority (MDA), accusing it of encroaching upon their plots with the assistance of “land grabbers.”
During a press conference held at the Karachi Press Club, the allottees appealed to the Sindh government for help in reclaiming their plots. They warned that if their plea goes unanswered, they will resort to protest demonstrations across the city to fight for their rights.
The disgruntled allottees expressed disappointment in the MDA’s recent advertisement announcing the cancellation of their plots, despite having already made installment payments for their properties. Since 2006, they have been eagerly awaiting development work in the area, but to their dismay, no progress has been made.
Under the guise of development, the allottees were required to make substantial payments in installments, with the promise of basic amenities such as roads, water supply, drainage, and power supply systems. However, they lamented that no tangible developments have taken place in this regard.
In a plea for support, the allottees urged Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to take notice of the situation and assist them in reclaiming their plots, safeguarding their property rights.
