Chairman PSP Syed Mustafa Kamal has announced a march from the Tibet Center to the Chief Minister’s House on Sunday, January 30, against the Local Government Amendment Act.
“If we are stopped, the government will be responsible for the consequences. We will respond Whatever we are faced with, we will respond in kind,” Kamal said in a press conference on Monday.
“Whoever comes in our way will get the same answer. If we were stopped on January 30, let the PPP provincial government know that we are human beings like you, we will do whatever you do,” Kamal said.
“Let the people come out in large numbers on January 30 for their rights. Pakistan is not working, the federal and provincial governments have failed,”
Kamal said that PPP should give an account of all the money the province has been given over the years and asked where all of it went.
“The political situation of Pakistan has become very bad. The provincial government of Sindh is ruling on the basis of hatred and prejudice. A sense of deprivation is being created among the people across the province and lava based on linguistic differences is brewing among the people which is being exploited by anti-national agencies to cause riots among Sindhis, Muhajirs and Pakhtuns,” Kamal said.
He added: “When young people are deprived of their right to live, they will surely be ready to do anything. The Sindh government, the PPP, is turning a huge population of Sindh province against Pakistan under a well thought out plan. Due to the misdeeds of PPP, Sindh’s issues are no longer seen as regional issues.”
“PPP was given Rs. 2300 billion to spend on education alone, news agencies reported. But instead of opening new educational institutions, government schools are being closed, government school buildings in Sindh are being given on contract to welfare institutions,” Kamal pointed out.
Lashing out at the ruling leadership of Sindh and the Centre, Kamal said: PPP has made Sindh its personal state, they are not running a democratic government in Sindh but running their own state. The PTI-led federal government has given free rein to Zardari in Sindh to run its government. When it comes to new constituencies, new districts, new towns, the Sindh government does everything under the guise of linguistic bias.
The PSP leader said: If the Sindh government can intervene in the matter of city government, then Sindh is a province of Pakistan and the federal government should intervene and save the citizens of the province.”
Kamal said: “I would like to inform the state institutions that the people of Karachi have been subjected to a lot of oppression and abuse. It is time to rein in the Sindh government. Democracy does not mean that you do not abide by the constitution, do not abide by the institutions and continue to make laws for your own benefit.
He asked the people of Karachi to come with him and stand against this government so that the city and province can be saved from this oppression.
“I ask the workers of every political party in Pakistan to ask their leaders why they have not transferred resources for the betterment of their regions. We will tell you on January 30 that when a capable leader comes forward, the time of tyrant is over and the time of tyranny of PPP is over now,” the PSP leader concluded.
Kamal expressed the above views while addressing a press conference at Pakistan House. President PSP Anis Qaimkhani and other key officials were also present on the occasion.
