Ramos suggested the signing of memoranda of understanding in various areas, including economic development, health, and businesses. He expressed interest in agreements with Pakistani learning institutions to facilitate the accreditation of nurses for potential immigration to the United States, addressing the shortage of healthcare professionals.
Recognizing Karachi as the economic hub of Pakistan, Ramos likened it to New York, emphasizing the supportive role both cities play in their respective countries. He proposed the establishment of sister-state relationships between New York and Karachi, emphasizing collaboration for mutual prosperity.
During his visit, Ramos announced proposed measures to formalize cooperation between the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee (APPAC) and the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He advocated for the creation of a task force to explore opportunities for collaboration, emphasizing the positive impact of fostering stronger ties between the US and Pakistan.
President of KCCI, Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh, highlighted a significant development in the form of a resolution passed by the State Legislature of Georgia, establishing a Sister State-Province relationship between Georgia and Sindh. This move was deemed historic for promoting multifaceted sister-state ties.
At the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Ramos announced proposed measures to strengthen collaboration with FPCCI. FPCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh stressed the need for increased market access to the US for Pakistan, considering the challenges faced by the country, including the war on terror, floods, and the impact of climate change.
