The Sindh Education Department has announced that the new academic year for public and private schools across Sindh will commence on April 15, 2024. The decision was made during a meeting of a lower committee of the provincial steering committee, led by Sindh Caretaker Education Minister Rana Hussain.
Additionally, the academic year for colleges in Sindh is scheduled to begin on August 1, 2024. The meeting also addressed various matters, including the schedule for summer and winter vacations. The existing schedule for vacations will be followed, with a 15-day training program for teachers planned during the summer break.
The spokesperson also shared that matriculation and intermediate exams for the year 2024 will start in the last week of May, with results expected to be announced on July 31 and the second week of August, respectively.

This decision follows the Punjab government’s recent public holiday announcement in response to smog conditions, with closures affecting various establishments, including schools and offices.
