The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has chosen to run for nine of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNAs’ former seats in the Karachi National Assembly (NA).
The MQM-Pakistan has scheduled meetings for its central leadership and election cell members for today at 5 o’clock.
The group will discuss planning for upcoming by-elections in nine Karachi constituencies.
The nine Karachi constituencies where by-polls are scheduled include:

Earlier, the Pakistan People’s Party decided to run candidates for its party in the by-elections for seats in the National Assembly.
Farhatullah Babar, a seasoned PPP leader, had requested that party candidates submit their requests for party tickets by February 3.
The schedule for the by-elections to fill 33 National Assembly seats left vacant by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNAs was made public by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). On March 16, the ECP has decided to hold by-elections for 33 NA seats; nomination papers may be submitted from February 6 to February 8.
Imran Khan, a former prime minister, will run in the by-election for all 33 open National Assembly seats, the party’s senior vice-president Shah Mehmood Qureshi declared on Sunday.
