Under the leadership of Mayor Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, a meeting was held with representatives from various transport organizations, including Kemari Town Chairman Humayun Khan and Lyari UC Chairman Ghulam Yasin Khan.
During the meeting, Mayor Murtaza Wahab issued directives to immediately cancel all fake leases at the truck stand and to organize the truck stand in accordance with the city’s master plan.
Mayor Karachi emphasized the importance of removing encroachments on the truck stand’s land promptly and urged the Truck Owners Association to cooperate in beautifying Maripur Road.
He further expressed his commitment to finding an alternative location for the truck stand to address the concerns of the stakeholders.
Mayor Karachi highlighted that the non-payment of taxes is one of the biggest challenges faced by the city, and urged all stakeholders to contribute towards improving the city’s financial situation.
On this occasion, the chairman of Goods Alliance informed that the current truck stand covers an area of 100 acres, with 25% being affected by encroachments. The measures taken during the meeting aim to address these issues and ensure better organization and functionality of the truck stand in Karachi.
