The bereaved father of Maham (six years old) who was raped and strangled to death in Karachi’s Korangi, has demanded public-hanging for the rapist of his child who happened to be their neighbour.
Abdul Khaliq lamented over the death of their beloved daughter, said if they only knew the rapist of their daughter not only lives in their neighbourhood but also enjoys good relations with them, they would have kicked him out long ago.
The suspect, who has been identified as Zakir, turned out to be their neighbour. The police have confirmed that the DNA of Zakir matched with the sample collected from the body, said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Saqib Ismail Memon.
The father has demanded public-hanging for the rapist and has appealed to the law enforcement agencies to do the same for every rapist around.
DIG East along with other officers Irfan Bahadur and Shahnawaz Chachar said the further investigation is underway in a press conference.
