Karachi traffic police issue 18,586 challans in one week

The Karachi traffic police have issued a total of 18,586 challans in the past week as part of a citywide crackdown on traffic rule violations, including fancy number plates, tinted windows, and improper parking.

According to the traffic police officials, 2,513 challans were issued for tinted windows, 1,988 for fancy number plates, and 107 for vehicles displaying unauthorized police red-blue lights.

Additionally, there were 2,513 challans for running red lights, 2,832 for one-way violations, and 399 for stop line breaches on traffic signals.

The crackdown also penalized negligent driving, with 887 challans issued, and 1,504 drivers were fined for not having a driving license.

Improper lane usage led to 205 fines, while the highest number of violations, 3,364, were issued for illegal parking in Karachi.

Motorcyclists without number plates on both sides received 1,521 challans, and 753 fines were given to rickshaw drivers.

The traffic police have committed to maintaining strict enforcement to improve traffic order in the metropolis.
