On Wednesday, the weather in the city remained hot and dry, with the sea breeze being suspended and gusts of hot winds from Balochistan keeping the heat index high.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in the city was 36.5 degrees, with a humidity ratio of 19%. Because of the low humidity, the heat was not as intense in the city.
According to the PMD Early Warning Center, hot and dry weather will persist in the city for the next few days. The sea breezes will be fully halted in the afternoon, making way for scorching winds from the Balochistan desert. The sea wind is forecast to return after sunset, making the evening more comfortable.
The highest temperature in the city is forecast to remain between 35 and 37 degrees today (Thursday), and between 36 and 38 degrees on Friday.
Other sections of the province may also experience hot and dry conditions.
Karachi remained fourth on the list of the world’s most polluted cities, owing to the desert winds of Balochistan.
According to the air quality index, the amount of contaminated particles in Karachi’s atmosphere was 155 particulate matter.
With 177 particulate particles, Delhi (India) topped the list of most polluted cities. With 154 particulate matter, Lahore was ranked as the fifth most polluted city in the world.
