The National Command and Control Centre has said that local governments of Karachi and Hyderabad should start distributing free face masks to people in public spaces.
The provincial home ministry communicated this directive to commissioners in Karachi and Hyderabad via a letter.
The letter further called for adopting innovative measures to ensure mask-wearing in public areas including shops, markets, bazaars, restaurants, hotels, wedding halls, marquees, public parks, guest houses, and educational institutes, and other places.
It also called for awareness campaigns through banners and announcements and advertisements in media.
