Karachi braces for thunderstorms and strong winds as monsoon arrives in Sindh

The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s Early Warning System has issued an alert to residents of Karachi and other parts of Sindh to brace for potential thunderstorms, strong winds, and lightning expected on Monday. The impending weather change is due to monsoon winds sweeping into the region, which could bring rainfall to various locations.

The areas likely to be affected by these monsoon-induced conditions include Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Dadu, and Jacobabad. While the monsoon’s arrival will bring some relief, most of the province will continue to endure hot and humid weather. Coastal regions, such as Karachi, are forecasted to experience isolated showers.

For Karachi, the weather forecast predicts cloudy skies with persistent warm and humid conditions over the next two days. Temperatures in the city are expected to range between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department advises residents to take necessary precautions against the sudden change in weather, particularly due to the risks posed by thunderstorms and strong winds.

As the monsoon season sets in, the expected weather changes underscore the need for preparedness and caution among residents to mitigate any adverse impacts. The Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
