A traffic plan has been released by the Karachi administration in anticipation of tomorrow’s Muharram procession.

Details indicate that in order to protect the participants, the authorities will block off the National Highway on Thursday night from 9:30 pm to 11:00 pm.

The procession would start from Imamia Imambargah and terminate at Hussaini Imambargah, according to Syed Arshad Hussain, Superintendent of Traffic Police for Malir. The roadway will be blocked off by the government from both the main city and the entrance to Quaidabad.

The senior superintendent of police provided the following information to the media regarding detours:

  • Quaidabad to Wireless Gate to Malir Halt.

  • Jinnah Avenue Malir Halt Railway Crossing to Darakhshan Society to Kala Board.

  • Manzil Pump to Yunus Chowrangi.

  • Radio Pakistan to Quaidabad to Dawood Chowrangi.

Within the following two days, the government is anticipated to release a plan for an alternative path for Ashura processions.
