Karachi: 48 civilians killed in traffic accidents in 2022

In Karachi, 48 civilians were killed in traffic accidents in Karachi during the first three months of the year 2022.

14 civilians were killed in District West, 7 in District South, 1 in District City, 5 in District Sandal, 9 in District East, 7 in District Korangi and 5 in District Malir.

4 people lost their lives from bus collision, 2 from minibus collision, 2 from coach collision, 2 from trailer collision, 9 from truck collision, 9 from dumper collision, 2 from water tanker collision, 5 from oil tanker collision. And 6 people were killed in crashes with other vehicles.

It should be noted that traffic accidents are emerging as a significant threat to human lives all over the world. According to the World Health Organization, millions of people lose their lives due to traffic accidents every year.

According to an international research institute, traffic accidents are the 15th leading cause of death globally.

Pakistan has the highest number of deaths in traffic accidents after deaths by AIDS, malnutrition, epilepsy, violence, various types of cancer and individual deaths due to suicide.

According to the report, most of the traffic accidents occurred among motorcyclists, auto-rickshaw drivers and drivers of motor cars and vans, followed by bus and truck accidents.
