The federal budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 is scheduled to be presented in the National Assembly on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

The schedule for the upcoming budget session was discussed during a meeting of the chief whips of political parties represented in Parliament.
According to a news release, the National Assembly session will take a break from June 13 to June 19 before resuming on June 20.
Budget Debate Schedule
The general discussion on the federal budget will take place from June 20 to June 24.
The schedule agreed upon for the budget proceedings is as follows:
- June 12: Presentation of the federal budget 2024-25
- June 13–19: Break in the National Assembly session
- June 20–24: General discussion on the budget
- June 26–27: Debate on cut motions
- June 28: Discussion and approval of the Finance Bill
- June 29: Expected conclusion of the current National Assembly session
The meeting also agreed to continue the debate on the President’s address on June 6 and 7.
Standing Committees and House Business
The meeting further discussed the formation of standing committees and the House Business Advisory Committee.
The budget session will provide lawmakers with an opportunity to debate the government’s proposed revenue and expenditure plans for the upcoming fiscal year before the Finance Bill is considered for approval.
The 2024-25 federal budget is expected to outline the government’s economic priorities, development spending and taxation measures for the financial year beginning July 1, 2024.
